Hello, everyone. I have finished all of my classes with Sophia, and I was wondering if anyone might share their experience with Study.com. Are the examinations proctored? How many lessons can you take every month? I have a full-time work, therefore I would like to plan ahead. Thanks!
Study.com was good, but not as cost-effective as Sophia. While final exams are proctored, everything leading up to them is not. You might want to be selective about which classes to take on Study.com versus WGU, depending on your strategy. I completed as many courses as possible before starting at WGU to try to finish my degree in one term.
Though not as fantastic of a discount as Sophia, Study.com was still good. While everything before the final test is proctored, it is not. Depending on your approach, you could want to choose classes more carefully that might be simpler at WGU as opposed to Study.com. I simply completed as many as I could before to WGU since I wanted to finish as soon as possible.
I tried using it for professional development and found the content to be quite disappointing. However, this could be beneficial for other subjects or individuals who are just embarking on their professional journey.
I had a hard time cancelling because the website wasn’t cooperating, but thankfully customer support was able to help me in the end.
As of right now, I find it to be really good. The only drawback is that, as you mentioned, they are terrible at responding. I took the proctored final last night to wrap up my third class. You can begin your next class while you wait for the results, even if I don’t think I waited two weeks to hear back on the prior ones.
