This has to be a scam… anyone else seen this?

I came across this ad online today, and I’m pretty sure it’s a scam. The ad says Amazon, but when you click on it, it takes you to the website shown in the second picture.

Just a reminder—keep all scam-related discussions public here so everyone can see and help. If someone contacts you privately offering advice, they’re likely a scammer themselves. Always share advice out in the open for everyone to benefit!

They stole the logo from JOANN, which is a fabric and crafts store. This isn’t legit.

I used to see JOANN around in Lowell, Mass back in the day. Couldn’t tell you if they had a manufacturing facility there, though. Weird that they’d use their logo for this scam.

The address they list is in Salem, Oregon, but it’s a bank. Maybe they’re out of toasters?

Yeah, when it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Out of toasters? I’ll take a set of silverware, then!

WHOIS REPORT FOR JOANNST.SHOP

This domain was created only 4 days ago, and it’s registered for just one year. The person or company that registered it claims to be based in China, and they’re hiding the rest of their contact info. Plus, .shop domains tend to be sketchy and linked to scams. No response from the server yet, so we can’t say where it’s hosted, but it’s definitely fishy.

It’s so ridiculous that people still fall for this stuff. Like someone once said, ‘There’s a sucker born every minute.’

Some people just believe what they see online, especially if it says ‘2000 people bought this in the last 24 hours!’

A lot of scams prey on young people and older folks who might not be as experienced with online scams.

It’s all about greed and fear of missing out. People see a $300 top-tier smartphone and think it’s a steal. If it’s too good to be true, it probably is.

You’re right, it’s definitely a scam.

What makes you think this could even be legit? It’s clearly a scam.

Pretty sure JOANN Fabrics doesn’t sell bikes.

Look at the web address. It’s clearly a scam.

https://www.whois.com/whois/joannst.shop It’s a scam for sure.

They used the logo from a fabric store to try and sell bikes! LOL
