Is ThredUp a legitimate website for buying and selling secondhand clothing?

Hey everyone! Lately, I’ve been checking out online stores where you can sell and buy secondhand items like TheRealReal, Poshmark, thredUP, and Depop.

I’ve heard good things about thredUP, but when I looked at their website, I noticed that some items were labeled incorrectly, which seemed a bit suspicious.

For instance, here’s a dress I own from Everlane, which I got for $22. ThredUP listed it for more, both originally and on sale: [link]

I also saw a silk slip for $18, labeled as 100% silk, but I suspect it might actually be polyester.

What have your experiences been with thredUP? Is it reliable overall?

thredUP is a big online thrift store with over 35,000 famous brand items. They take maternity clothes, kids’ stuff, plus-size clothes, and even jewelry and accessories. If you want to sell, just ask for a Clean Out kit and fill it with your best brand-name stuff.

I didn’t hear about thredUp until today. I guess it’s very millennial and not Gen Z-coded

I’ve been shipping my clothes from (vinted .co .uk)

It is legit since you get to communicate directly with the sellers. I’ll try using thredUp in the future
