Is Carbrain legitimate?

I have a 10-year-old car with a broken engine that’s probably not worth fixing. It’s my fault, unfortunately.

What’s the best way to get rid of it? I’ve gotten some estimates from online sites like Carbrain, but is that the best way to sell a car that’s no longer working? Or should I call local junkyards instead?

Carbrain is terrible. They offered $1,600 for my car, but when they came to pick it up, they only gave me $1,200. The car was exactly as I described, with no missing parts. When I tried to log into my account to complain, I found I was locked out and my phone number was blocked.

I was in a bad accident and rear-ended someone. My Civic’s engine was in great condition with 92,000 miles. I got $700 for my 2007 Civic from Carbrain.

I had a bad experience with Carbrain. They were nice on the phone and said they’d give me $325 for my 2001 Chevy Prizm. But when the tow truck came, the driver said they’d only give me $200. I told them about all the issues with my car, but they claimed the catalytic converter was replaced, which I never did. I took the deal, but I wasn’t happy about it.

Junkyards will pay you for the scrap value of your car. You might get around $100, but with the engine being bad, I’m not sure.

Carbrain is a joke. Their offer was so low, I thought they mixed me up with someone else. I ended up selling my car for more than three times what they offered. Even after I told them their offer was insulting and I had sold the car for a much higher price, they keep emailing me. They keep asking if I want to take their offer, even though I don’t own the car anymore.
