The best sites are Actors Access and Casting Networks. You can also use Backstage, but it’s not as popular as the first two. Besides these three, not many people use other sites.
From what I’ve seen, yeah, it’s real. But the best one is probably Casting Networks. Actors Access is pretty empty right now because of the strike. I heard it had a lot of open calls before that.
It’s a very legit website which can give you a good exposure. Go ahead.
I went to their “final selection,” where they invite everyone back. The judge wanted everyone to pay for the classes and sign a contract immediately. I wouldn’t say it’s a total scam, but I don’t think the “acting classes” are worth it, especially if you don’t have a lot of money.
Best place to kick off your career
I’ve done background acting on several shows with Central Casting. It’s free, so I’m not sure about the sites you mentioned because I think you have to pay for memberships to get any work from them.
