Is Acme Tools legit?

Is Acme Tools a good site for buying tools? Their prices and deals look interesting. Can you trust them? Thanks!

I’ve bought a lot from them over the last 15 years and never had a problem.

They’re very reliable, maybe even too much so in my opinion. I have to make myself stay off their site. Their “What’s New” section is great for finding new and upcoming tools. I’ve even preordered some tools from them, like the M12 Pin Nailer. Their website is well-organized and much more fun to browse than Home Depot.

Very good place to shop if they have a deal on what you’re looking for.

Definitely not. I recommend checking the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website and reading the reviews. There are many complaints about shipping scams, return problems, pricing issues, and stock problems. For example, you might find a good price, place an order, and then find out the item is out of stock or the price changes. Sometimes they ask you to reorder or charge you much more for shipping than initially stated.

Acme Tools didn’t include an Ego string trimmer attachment that was supposed to be part of a bundle I bought. The string trimmer appeared in my cart, but it wasn’t listed on the invoice (which I didn’t check right away, assuming it was included). It took months for them to send the power head and edger. When I asked about the string trimmer, they denied ever offering such a bundle. I showed them proof from a forum where people discussed the bundle before I bought it, but they still wouldn’t honor the deal and stopped responding. I saw many other bad reviews online about similar issues. They might handle some orders well, but their history shows there’s a risk.

I just joined their GearWrench promotion. It’s great!
