It’s a scam. They’ll send you money, but it’s fake. In a few weeks, you’ll find the check bounces and you’re left without the $2700 you sent back.
They’ll probably ask you to send money back via gift cards, crypto, or a non-refundable method.
By the time the check bounces, they’ll be long gone with the money.
