- This isn’t the toll website.
- I have auto deposit for when my account gets below $25.
- That website was created today.
This scam works because it’s a small amount, and most people don’t want the hassle of disputing tolls. It’s easy to just pay it, but they’re preying on that convenience.

Exactly, people trust that if it looks official, they should pay. Toss in the name of a government agency, and people get scared they’ll face penalties if they don’t pay right away.

Especially with the hurricane, scammers are trying to prey on evacuees driving through tolls. It’s so messed up.
There’s a similar scam with the Ohio Turnpike. I just block and move on.

Got one from ‘River Link’ about the Ohio River toll bridge. Never even been there.

The PA Turnpike has had similar scams too.

I got a letter supposedly from the PA Turnpike. Whether it was legit or not, I just ignored it because it seemed too scammy.
I got the same scam! Haven’t driven through Georgia in four years, but I got multiple texts early in the morning.

Just FYI, Georgia PeachPass can be used in some other states like North Carolina and Florida, so keep that in mind.
@Mitchell
Good to know, but I haven’t driven in those states either!
You should report this to the FBI’s online fraud system.
Same thing is happening here in North Carolina.
I got similar ones from SunPass (Florida) and EZ Pass (Maine). Funny thing is, I’ve never even been to Florida!
I checked the domain, and four security vendors on VirusTotal already flagged it as malicious within 10 days of creation. It’s definitely a scam.
Gotta love the effort they put into these scams, right?

Happy cake day!
Did they send it from a regular phone number or a short code?

It was a regular phone number.
Mine came in at 2:34 am! Classic scam move.
