I’m in the U.S. and have seen some hotel prices on a website called Splitty that seem “too good to be true.” I haven’t found much info about it online. Has anyone used it before?

Just to let everyone know, I used them for my hotel in Miami in May, and everything went smoothly for me. I made sure to call the hotel a few days before to confirm my reservation. Sorry to those who had any trouble!

The reviews on Trustpilot look suspicious. 62% are 5 stars and 30% are 1 star. Some of the 5-star reviews say things like ‘seems like a good value, hope I have a good stay,’ which isn’t helpful. I found a 2018 article that says it’s an Israeli tech startup that ‘hacks’ reservations. That might be a bad choice of words, but I doubt they have strong partnerships with hotels if they’re ‘hacking’ prices. I wouldn’t risk it.
It’s definitely a scam. I booked with them, but the hotel had no rooms, and we were stranded. My mom, my cat, and I had to sleep in my small Chevy on the side of the road. The worst part is they still took my money and wouldn’t give a refund.

You couldn’t dispute the charge with your bank/credit card company?
I don’t recommend them. I booked two hotel rooms in July for a trip in September. I called the hotel to check, and they said they had four reservations, but three were canceled the day after I booked. Both charges are still on my card. I’m on hold with Splitty now, but based on what I’ve read online, I’m expecting them to hang up, and I’ll probably have to dispute it with my bank.
When it seems too good to be true, maybe it’s not true.
Scam alert! Don’t trust this company. I booked a hotel, they charged my card but gave the hotel a fake credit card number, so the hotel never got paid. Now I have to pay the hotel myself! I’m reporting it as fraud to my credit card company. This company is fake, with fake reviews and barely any followers on social media.
They have an option where you can enter “0” dollars. I was also worried about using them, but I just used them 15 minutes ago and everything went fine. I also used them 7 days ago, and it went perfectly then too.
