This came to us in an addressed UPS envelope but had no other info included. It’s clear it’s a scam, but what are they trying to pull off here?
Heads up to anyone new here!
If you post here, watch out for private messages from people claiming they know a hacker or lawyer who can help get your money back, usually for a small fee. These are scammers trying to get more out of you. Any advice you take should be public here, so the community can help you spot scams. If you go private, you’re on your own.
Forum rules: No sharing of personal info, be civil, no name-calling or scams against scammers. Unblurred personal photos or uncensored gore aren’t allowed here. Did you expect a package recently?
Sometimes scammers will send you an empty letter in an envelope just to say that something was delivered to you. If you’ve bought something valuable from them, this might be their way of ‘proving’ they sent it so they can deny refunds.
If you didn’t expect anything, it might be a scam where they send something random just to show fake activity or make you think it’s legitimate.
It could be that the link (if there was one) is just a way to get more money from you for some ‘second package.’ Classic bait.
If you didn’t order anything and there’s a link, it’s likely a scam link. If you did order something, they could be sending the actual item from overseas while pretending they’re local by sending this letter from within the country.

Could also be ‘brushing’ where they send you stuff to get a tracking number in the system.

Let me explain the brushing scam real quick.
Brushing is when a scammer ships out fake orders to make it look like they have more real customers. Sometimes they also use these fake orders to post fake ‘verified’ reviews. If it’s something cheap, your info probably isn’t compromised.
If it’s something expensive, like electronics, then there’s a chance your account got hacked. It might be worth logging in to check for any strange orders, or if you use Amazon, check the archived orders section, as scammers will sometimes hide their tracks there.
Again, I’m just a bot, but reach out to mods if you need anything.
They’re probably hoping you call back or contact them. That way, they can ask for personal info or maybe trick you into paying for some fake service.
Just to clarify, there was no link or contact info at all—no way to tell who this even came from or how to respond. It’s honestly strange, and it doesn’t make much sense. We definitely didn’t order anything.
