Anyone Else Dealing with a Scam from Termination Experts Asking for €72?

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share something that happened to me recently. I got an invoice from a company called Termination Experts asking for €72, claiming I owe them money for a service I know nothing about. They’ve even threatened me with legal action, but I never got any kind of notice or cancellation letter from them.

This whole thing feels like a scam, and I’m really concerned about their tactics. Has anyone else had any issues with this company? I’d really appreciate some advice on how to handle it.

Thanks!

This sounds like a refund scam.

Hi /u/Flaky_Law2653, AutoModerator has been summoned to explain the Refund scam.

Refund scams usually start with a spam email about a fake transaction, though they can also come through SMS or other messaging services. The scammer will give you a phone number to call to cancel the supposed transaction, and once you call, they’ll try to get your credit card or bank details to ‘refund’ you. Some scammers use Paypal’s invoice system to make the scam look more real. Here’s a news article about that: PayPal Phishing Scam Uses Invoices Sent Via PayPal – Krebs on Security. This looks like a refund scam. You can find info about other versions by searching for ‘refund’ in the forum. Don’t worry about it. If it were real, they’d send it to collections. They’re just trying to scare you into paying.

@Carl
Thank you for your response! I was really starting to get worried!!
